I've had to go through and thin to two clusters per cane. It's done much better since I moved it to a location with more sun. Before I moved it I never got any grapes, even after 6 years. I took a cutting and moved it over about 50 ft and what a difference! 2 clusters the first year and now,the second year it is loaded! So did the thornless blackberry and boysenberry vines. The only thing that made it was the pluot tree. I learned a terrible lesson: never order from a nursery outside of your home area. Let the bees at them, and soon you'll have grapes. By the way, grapes can swing both ways -- be either male or female. But they can't pollinate themselves. You have to have a minimum of two separate vines to get grapes.Lisa Paulhttp://leftcoastcowboys.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5073185635856849089.post-38819659555995061922010-05-22T06:46:29.609-07:002010-05-22T06:46:29.609-07:00Maybelline, I'm pretty sure those are the blos...Maybelline, I'm pretty sure those are the blossoms that will become grapes as they grow. It appears they are just beginning their transformation. Looks like you'll have a bountiful harvest! How wonderful! I appreciate the encouragement you give me. It means so much. With time, and proper fertilization, you'll have grapes.

Helen BAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
