I was surprised at how easily the seeds germinated. It's a very inexpensive experiment.

*Maureen - Glad you're in the green. I like Brune D'Hiver as well. My Bakersfield accent butchers the French name; so I simply call it my French lettuce.MAYBELLINEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09459481721591224275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5073185635856849089.post-14211102259498463342010-12-29T11:47:42.829-08:002010-12-29T11:47:42.829-08:00Nice review of your lettuce crop....lovely photos ...Nice review of your lettuce crop....lovely photos too! Ours is quite a bit behind yours, had some trouble with seeds germinating (and the tree over the bed lost it's leaves rather slowly:) but we are finally eating greens from the garden on a regular basis. I may try Iceberg next year; I like that it doesn't form tight heads....and Brune D'Hiver is one of our favorites!Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13716619994168402985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5073185635856849089.post-43041714895905653082010-12-29T11:28:01.192-08:002010-12-29T11:28:01.192-08:00All look wonderful and so fresh and tasty!

It was fantastic! I selectively cut it, so more leaves should come while the days are still short.

Maybe I'll try some lettuces in pots, too.Aunt Snowhttp://doves2day.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5073185635856849089.post-58188136795726110012010-12-29T10:30:22.245-08:002010-12-29T10:30:22.245-08:00I got really excited when i saw those parallel bea...I got really excited when i saw those parallel beams over your lettuce. I thought for a second maybe you were using LED strip lights over your crop (I'm doing research on the use of LEDs for greenhouse floriculture).

Anyways, that's a good idea for keeping the plastic sheeting up.Green Zebra Market Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10030147550078130741noreply@blogger.com
