Wisteria

DSC_1875_4816Looky looky.  I got a cookie!

The wisteria is producing buds in August.  A very mature nurseryman tends his very mature wisteria by regularly pruning to encourage new growth and blooms.  His vine blooms about 5 times before frost hits in November.

His technique seems to be working.  Farmer MacGregor gets up on a ladder and prunes every once in awhile.  I feed the 2 vines we have Dr. Earth tree formula.DSC_1673_4584So far, so good

I remember when you wrote about this wisteria trick! I'm glad it worked.

I just planted mine. But I haven't trellised it yet. And boy does it need one!
