My friend, Louise, sent me orchids on the 2nd day of surgery. Anyone coming & going through my room commented at how beautiful they are yet no one could offer any growing tips. When I was finally reunited with my iPad, I was able to start educating myself.
There are mounds of information out there only to match the mounds of varieties available. I'm looking for a good source of information to help me successfully grow these beauties. Until then, it's minimal water and even less light.

Your orchids are Phalaenopsis, and are pretty easy to grow. The link below will take you to a site with all sorts of info.

Whoa Helen. That is a great source. Thanks for providing the link. Orchids don't seem so intimidating now.
Thank you so much, dear.....this info is wonderful....now perhaps I can treat my oor orchid plants properly and have more blossoms.
I just inherited an orchid from my sister. I've got to check out the link because I'm not sure how to care for mine. Yours are beautiful!
They are quite easy. Give them a good soak every 2-3 weeks.
Love the speckled one!
The only type of orchid that I have had success with is "Dendrobium kingianum" that I received as a gift last Feb. It is described as adaptable and easy to grow indoors and outdoors. The fragrance is lovely. Right now I have it outside where it was fine all summer, but I think I will move it inside soon. Good luck with your orchid. It is beautiful. And I hope you are recovering well from your surgery. I missed seeing your blog posts. I think I was able to make my blog comments ipad friendly now!
