Farmer MacGregor harvested and enjoyed the boysenberry crop today. The lone berry was delicious. We hope that next season the harvest will be even bigger and better than the one berry produced from the 1st season. That should give me enough time to gather more jars for the jam.

And a beautiful lone berry it was! Now start collecting those jars ;)
At least the good father got a taste. Our feathered friends stole our first three of the season eons ago it seems. The blackberries are forming up nicely though. Still -- I'll have to net it so we can save it from the marauders (who also happen to like peaches!)
*Bill: I've been having great success with scare tape. Birds will fly over but not invade the garden. Strawberries, peaches, grapes, and tomatoes are enjoying a summer without birds. Hope my luck holds.
Scare tape? Never heard of such a thing!
*Bill: Scare tape is mylar tape that is usually silver on one side and red on the other. It's very light weight and moves with the slightest breeze. I have it tied all over my garden to keep the birds away. So far. So good. I purchased it at my local hardware store.
While not a feast for the belly, that photo was indeed a feast for the eyes! It sure looked yummy (and you could have told us that you spent most of the morning harvesting the berry crop, hey, one or a thousand, we would never know).
