Summer Summer Go Away…

DSC_1021_2892

Remember January?  Remember rain?  Remember sweaters?

It’s so flippin’ hot here that the tomatoes and peppers are turning into salsa out in the garden without any help from me.  It’s too  stinkin’ hot.  For those gardeners that longed for the summer during a long, cold, wet winter I say to you:  I’ve had it.  Enough is enough.  You’ve had your summer now let me have some cool weather so I can get on with business.  Sorry.  But it’s time for you to go back inside and endure cabin fever while I enjoy more comfortable weather.  It’s only fair.

Aren’t you ready for apples and jack o’lanterns?  Aren’t you ready for Thanksgiving feasts and Chirstmas goodies?  Aren’t you ready for the seasons to change?  Aren’t you ready to have me stop whining about the heat?

Good rant!:) OK ... I'm still savoring our moderate summer weather and soon enough will be inside resting getting cabin fever. Go inside to sit in the cool of your a/c and let me have my summer :) (LOL)

Well, after suffering a cold and grey summer so far, now it is blindingly hot, roasting! It was 104 at our house yesterday AND the power went out.

@ Aunt Snow, it should be a rule - the power CANNOT go out when the temperature is in the 100's. So sorry for you. Let us know if you survive it.

I'm right there with you, Maybelline. It's (by far) our hottest summer on record. We've just endured our 56th (57th?) day in a row with the temperature in the 90's or higher. We've had more days of 100+ degree weather this summer than ever before... sigh. I'm beyond ready for Autumn!

*Mrs. You're right. I have wonderful, wonderful AC and I use it.
*Aunt: Hope you went to the movies or museum.
*Melissa: This isn't the hottest here. It's simply summer.
*Maureen: October is on the way. Hang in there.

I was whining about cold weather (68F highs) a week ago, then two days ago we smashed records for record heat at 104! Crazy ol' summer. I must admit, as much as I feel a little like summer has passed us by this year, the thought of hot apple cider and pumpkin pie has me itching for fall to arrive. Hope you get a break from the heat soon!

We have had just two days of hot weather or sun for that matter. No red tomatoes. Anyone have a good recipe for fried green tomatoes? :-(

Fried green tomatoes?! That's one of my favorite movies. It's pretty basic; but if you prefer to follow recipes try someone like Paula Deen.
