Perfect Tomato

DSC_1248_1465 This is my favorite photo taken last year of what I thought was the perfect tomato (Better Boy?).  Great color.  Wonderful shape.  Excellent model.  Perfect background.  The 2010 crop is not quite to this point; but I do see lots of potential. Once the weather is consistently hot, I should be overwhelmed with a flood of red, ripe tomatoes.

That is a fantastic photo! My garden is not quite to that point either. How do your tomato plants compare now compare to last year at this time? I'm thinking the weather we have had has really gotten mine off to a slower start..they were huge this time last year and now not so impressive...

*And - This year I started all my tomatoes from seed on March 1. In 2009, I purchased seedlings of Ace, Better Boy and Early Boy. I was harvesting by this time last year. I'll take the cooler weather anytime instead of a bountiful harvest.

I've heard it gets hot in Bakersfield. I'm still holding out for heat and a bountiful harvest here. Your pictures are wonderful!

Stunning photo!!! Truly! Tomato distributors should be pounding down your door for rights to it!!

So.....what did you do with it, did you eat it? It must have been delicious.

*Aunt Snow - that perfect tomato was used to make salsa and canned. Last year's salsa was outstanding. Thanks for your compliment.
